18-36 Months

At St. Andrew’s Dayschool, we strive to support the “whole child,” developing our curriculum and teaching strategies around social, emotional, physical, Language, and cognition development.

Preschool

Age 2 to Kinder

We view each child as a competent, imaginative, and curious self-learner. Given a safe, healthy, and stimulating environment, they will explore their interests at their own pace. Rather than directing learning through a strict, teacher-led curriculum, we provide various learning opportunities through an emergent curriculum. Teachers carefully design captivating learning experiences based on the cohort’s current interests. Introduction to and use of letters and numbers is integrated into exploring learning topics in our project-based work. Learning topics emerge from the interests of the children and are studied in small groups during group meeting times.

Play, Learn
& Grow

We are developmentally appropriate, play-based preschool with a spiritual framework.

Parent Info

Young children are naturally curious about the world around them, and everything we do at St. Andrew’s Dayschool helps foster each child’s uniqueness. Project-based learning, grounded by a deep appreciation for child-centered curriculum, guides our approach to instruction. Our talented team of educators deepens each child’s sense of wonder as students engage in rich, meaningful, and relevant interactions. Our curriculum engages intentional read-aloud and kinesthetic, auditory, visual, and tactile learners built upon a developmentally appropriate framework. Through these learning experiences, we hope to prepare a generation of children to become creative, compassionate, critical thinkers in today’s ever-changing world.

St. Andrew’s Day School has three age-appropriate playgrounds.

-Our first outdoor grounds are for our nursery, lush green grass with a path for babies to develop muscle strength and balance with the assistance of push-and-go walkers.
-The toddler yard is nestled in a quiet corner covered with turf and equipped with a sandbox. Creating a safe environment by avoiding platforms, railings, and sharp corners. We must remember the riding animals and activity panels, our student’s favorites.
-The main playground is a site to be seen; this sizeable open space promotes the power of play. The grounds have a riding track, climbing structures, a sandbox, and a garden. Empower children to develop social, language, and other essential skills.
